1. What is flash?
Flash is a major web technology made & developed by Adobe Inc., that enable interactive elements like video streaming, flash games, etc. in the web. It is propertiary, means that the technology is closed and only Adobe can control the source code.
2. What are the kinds of flash?
There are 2 kinds of flash. Flash Lite that is on low to mid-end nokia & se feature phones/smartphones.
Standard flash in pc and high-end phones like in n900 & satio.
3. What is their difference?
Flash lite is the 'mini' version of flash that is used on mobile phones. Previous versions of Flash Lite supports .swf files while the newest version, 3.1 can play.flv files on the browser. Flash lite 3.1 is installed in new Nokia smartphones like 5800, N96, 5230 etc. S40 phones support either flash lite 2.0 or 3.0, but neither can play videos because of S40 limitations. Flash lite is widely used in making animated wallpapers, flash games/applications and it works on your web browser like displaying flash advertisements.

4. What the deal about flash?
If you are a pc user,you may miss the lack of flash in your phone. Games in facebook or in y8 runs only with flash.
5. Is there an alternative to it?
Thankfully, yes. HTML5 is the next generation technology that is able to stream videos, and it is open source.
6. What is the deal with flash being closed?
Most technology in the web today is open standard , like Java, Ajax, SVG and HTML. Flash is only the remaining technology that a single corporation controls.
7. What is Apple take on flash?
Who haven't heard the iphone. Adobe and Apple had a long troublesome battle regarding flash on the iphone/ipad. iPhone doesn't have flash and Adobe is accusing Apple of withholding flash on it. Apple responds that flash is a battery hog, an old and closed technology, and they pushing HTML5 as a flash alternative and a web standard.
8. What are the major issues of flash?
If you happen to use a mac, you will understand apple. In mobile phones, Flash is very limited to hardware. Flash is resource hog and it generally slows down your web browser. It is crash prone and there are issues in security. In Satio, playing a youtube video will display ''low memory'' and can crash the browser. Fortunately, in N900, flash implementation is smooth.
9. How does Adobe respond?
Adobe will release Flash 10.1, that supposedly address the issue (now now in Beta 3.) It will reportedly take advantage hardware acceleration in smartphones and have a tighter security.
10. So can I install flash in my china phone?
No, and it never will. Most flash-capable phones are either feature phones & smartphones and have issues. So, thinking of downloading standard flash plug-in in your 6300 is a waste of time. HTC will release a slew of Android smartphones that is fully flash compatible. So buy one, instead.
11. So how about the iphone and the ipad?
Sadly, guys, analysing Stevie's comments, flash will never happen in iPhone OS. But, iphone owners didn't have flash for 3 years, why bother?
12. Can I still enjoy flash?
Opera Mobile and Skyfire have a native support flash. But the implementation varies and you need a smartphone.
13. How can I enjoy Youtube, what about Farmville!?
You don't need flash to watch youtube, there is a mobile version that is perfectly capable on your laughing baby fix. For farmville, sorry.
